888 Hosts World Poker Crown
888.com have announced its biggest ever poker tournament, the $3 million guaranteed World Poker Crown tournament which takes place on 26th April 2008. The event will see the winner walk away $1 million richer, making this one of the largest ever prizes in online poker history.
The World Poker Championships has been described by 888.com as a “new breed” of event. The event will start online then, with the last eight players then moving to a final offline table to be held in the 16th century castle in Peralada, Spain from 6th – 10th May. Play there will be filmed by Sky Sports, as well as German and Spanish broadcast companies.
Online qualifiers for the event are exclusive to 888.com and start today (20th February). These will run until April 26th, with players who prefer to buy-in directly to the online final can do so for $1,000 + $50.
