The Nevada Governor’s Conference on Tourism scheduled for December will feature an address by Gary Loveman- President and CEO of Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. The inclusion of Loveman was announced on Monday- joining a line up of speakers also including Frank Fahrenkopf- the President and CEO of Washington based organisation the American Gaming Association.

The topic of the conference to be held at the Reno Hilton hotel-casino from 6- 8 December, is to be “Nevada: Leading the Way”. NCOT (Nevada Commission of Tourism) Commissioner Punam Mathur, also senior vice president for Diversity and Community Affairs at MGM Mirage, will also be speaking at the conference, presenting the session on “Diversity: Taking the Next Step”.

Bruce Bommarito, NCOT executive director of the NCOT has said of the conference: “Nevada is the world’s undisputed leader of casino entertainment and we have 18 of the 20 largest hotels in the United States, including the top 10. We are the first U.S. state to open a licensed tourism office in China. But we don’t take leadership for granted. Retaining a leadership position requires vision, creativity, innovation and hard work.” The NCOT chair, Lorraine Hunt added: “We are looking forward to a very exciting Governor’s Conference this year that will highlight topics of interest to the tourism industry and showcase Nevada as a leader. Each year brings new issues that challenge and inspire us, and our conference aims to examine them and give participants new ideas and insight.”
