Palansky Joins WSOP Team
American casino giant Harrah’s Entertainment has hired Seth Palansky, the former high-profile Communications Director for the National Football League (NFL), to work on the management team for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament.
Palansky is replacing Gary Thompson after his promotion to Director of Corporate Communications for Harrah’s and will report directly to Jeffrey Pollack, Commissioner for the WSOP and Vice President of Sports and Entertainment for Harrah's.
'Seth's extensive sports and entertainment marketing experience and personal network of global media contacts will serve us well as we enter a new and exciting period of growth for poker's number one brand,' said Pollack.
Palansky worked as an official spokesman for the NFL Network speciality television channel along with serving as a spokesman for the NFL on television and media-policy issues. He was directly responsible to Steve Bornstein, President and Chief Executive Officer for the NFL, and Greg Aiello, Senior Vice-President for the League, and headed all corporate communications strategy and media relations functions in a number of capacities.
'I am looking forward to joining the WSOP team,' said Palansky.
“There are a lot of exciting things going on at Harrah's and I can't wait to get started.'
Palansky will be the second former NFL executive on the WSOP’s team after Ty Stewart, the former Director of Sponsorship and Licensing for the brand, joined last year.
