Online poker room PKR.com has leapfrogged some of its major competitors in terms of traffic according to a new report from independent information site PokerScout.com.
The Alderney-licensed three-dimensional site has been ranked 17th in the business after a successful marketing campaign that included both terrestrial and digital television channels.
PokerScout.com stated that it has been tracking PKR.com's climb since the site’s first inclusion in December and it is now just below CryptoLogic Network with an average of 580 cash players online.
'PKR.com has experienced incredible growth since our launch in August of 2006,” said Simon Prodger, Marketing Director for PKR.com.
Prodger went on to add, “In just 18 months, we've become a very competitive site with 10,000 concurrent players in action at peak time.'
PKR.com is a stand-alone site that has stayed away from the American online poker market. Its real money player base has expanded remarkably fast since its late-2006 launch and it is currently ranked fifth among other stand-alone non-US poker sites.
