Online Sportsbook Goes Multilingual
Gibraltar-based online sportsbook 888Sport.com has gone live with services in German, Spanish, Danish and Swedish in order to appeal to a wider range of customers.
888Sport.come went live in October in English following a deal between 888.com and Rank subsidiary Blue Square with this multilingual service marking the latest phase in a recovery plan for the parent company since it lost more than half its business following the closure of the US online gaming market in 2006.
“We were losing a lot of money by our customers going somewhere else to put on a sport bet with the worry that when they go somewhere else they will stay there to play poker,” Gigi Levy, Chief Executive for 888.com, told financial website ThisIsMoney.com.
It is hoped that services in multiple languages will provide players with a one-stop-shop for gaming and betting products and appeal to recreational players.
