Rock Guitarist Signed Up By UltimateBet
Online casino site UltimateBet.com has announced that it has signed a sponsorship deal with the guitarist of metal band Anthrax, Scott Ian.
The Kahnawake-licensed site stated that the musician got his start after winning VH1's Rock Stars of Poker charity competition and securing a spot in its signature land-based Aruba Poker tournament last year.
'We're thrilled to add Scott Ian to our roster of online poker professionals,' said George MacLean, spokesperson for UltimateBet.com.
'Scott represents a new breed of poker player that both Texas Hold'em and music fans can relate to.'
However, Ian conceded that his victory in the VH1 tournament had more to do with luck than with his skills as a poker player.
'I had no idea what I was doing,' said the 44-year-old New York native.
'My first tournament win was mostly because I had amazing cards. My instinct was all I had.'
The online casino stated that as a member of its team, Ian would be featured every Sunday at the UltimateBet.com $200,000 Guaranteed poker tournament with a bounty on his head as any player knocking the Anthrax guitarist out would win back their $215 buy-in.
