Gaming book shop celebrates birthday
The Gambler's Book Shop in Las Vegas has celebrated its 44th anniversary - with business boosted by a popular poker books series. Staff at the bookseller have noticed strong sales of books by Dan Harrington, who recently released a two-volume how-to guide on winning no-limit hold 'em games.
Such is the author's popularity that book shop owner Howard Schwartz predicted a knock-on effect at the city's gaming tables with readers following his advice, the Las Vegas Sun reports.
Mr Harrington has previously released a three-volume set on Texas hold 'em tournaments.
Other popular titles at the shop include Michael Murray's Betting Baseball - which discusses the impact of umpires and stadia on game outcomes.
"I know this will disappoint some gamblers, but about the only thing we still dont have is a book that gives you all the scores of the baseball season before it's played," Mr Schwartz added.
