Trump Not Looking To Sell
Multi-millionaire casino entrepreneur Donald Trump has stated that he is no longer interested in selling his three Atlantic City casinos after engaging in talks with at least two potential buyers last year.
The 61-year-old real estate developer was speaking at the opening of a new hotel tower at the Taj Mahal Casino Resort last week and said all of his firm’s New Jersey venues were doing well.
'We're not looking at that,' said Trump. 'We're doing very nicely.'
However, Trump stated that the US was in the midst of a financial recession that will only get worse with time and possibly affect profits for the Taj Mahal along with his other two properties, the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino and the Trump Marina Hotel Casino.
'I don't think we're in a recession, I know that we're in a recession,' said Trump.
'I think it's going to get worse.'
According to year-end figures released by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, revenues from the Taj Mahal were $508.5 million last year, placing it fifth among the city's eleven casinos, with the Trump Plaza earning $280.3 million and the Trump Marina $241.9 million.
