New Battle Of The Planets Promotion at PokerStars
Leading online casino PokerStars.com has unveiled its new Battle of the Planets sit and go tournament promotion, which will pay out over three million dollars a year to players.
Isle of Man-licensed PokerStars.com stated that Battle of the Planets is split into eight separate divisions, one for each planet in order of increasing size beginning with Mercury before moving up to Mars, Venus, Earth, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and finally Jupiter. Open to anyone, casual players can enjoy games at Mercury with buy-ins from as little as one dollar while high-volume customers may move up the scale, which culminates with Jupiter and its $300 or greater buy-ins.
The concept has also been split into ‘low orbit’ and ‘high orbit’ brackets in order to attract as many players as possible. A qualifying group of tournaments in any level's ‘low orbit’ bracket consists of a block of 20 tournaments with each successive block of 20 tournaments played counting as a separate block for qualifying purposes. Similarly, the ‘high orbit’ brackets are worked out based on 100 sit and go blocks requiring a higher level of participation to qualify.
Qualifying sit and go competitions must contain fewer than 40 players and points are awarded for money finishes with the prize pool divided equally between the two orbits. As well as earning cash prizes, the highest-ranking ten players from each division will also progress to an exclusive free monthly event featuring a $50,000 prize pool in a triple shootout format.
