Viva complex revealed
The backers of a $10 billion casino complex known as Viva have spoken about the new resort and how they think it will do in the current economic climate.
Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, the brothers behind Station Casinos, told the Las Vegas Sun they are confident the 110-acre project will be a success and said that their goals are long term.
Explaining why this is, Frank stated: "It's very hard to predict cycles in the short run and know what is going to happen in the next six months or the next year."
Some have argued that there is not a big enough market for a gambling complex of Viva's size, however, the brothers believe Las Vegas will grow in terms of population in the future, helping it to gather a customer base from locals as well as tourists.
Viva will be the crown jewel in a resort collection numbering more than a dozen, gathered over the last 13 years.
With three casinos and three hotels it will be the biggest of the lot by far, dwarfing the size of the large Thunder Valley Casino which Station operates on the California-Nevada border.
