NBA - Utah @ Toronto 4:30 PM PST Utah continues a five game road trip tonight north of the border at 1-1 both SU and ATS thus far. In their last contest, the Jazz were buried by the Nuggets 102-75. The loss proved extremely costly, as they had a chance to leapfrog Denver for eighth place in the Western Conference. The Jazz are now 0-3 against the Nuggets this season and would lose a head-to-head tiebreaker were they to finish with identical records. In any event, the loss snapped a three game winning streak both SU and ATS for Utah, but they are still 8-4 both SU and ATS their last twelve games overall. This stretch has put them at 34-33 SU and 39-27-1 ATS for the season, as well as 11-22 SU and 18-14-1 ATS away from the Delta Center. To their credit, the Jazz are a sweet 6-1 ATS off a 20+ point loss this season and 25-12 ATS off a 20+ point loss the past three seasons. Point being, the tough-minded Jerry Sloan knows how to get his players refocused and ready to compete after being embarrassed. Toronto is coming off a 101-84 home win over the flailing Hawks. Even with the victory, the Raptors are still just 2-4 both SU and ATS their last six games, as well as 28-38 SU and 32-32-2 ATS overall. At Air Canada Centre, the Blue Dinosaurs are 16-17 SU and 14-17-2 ATS. Note that the Raptors are just 5-10 ATS off a SU home win and 8-11 ATS as a home favorite this season. Utah nipped Toronto 97-94 as a 4.5 point home favorite earlier this season and we expect them to pull off another straight up win tonight. The Raptors have been much better in the role of dog than of favorite and Utah is simply the better team in our assessment. Take the points here. Early Prediction: Utah 92 Toronto 89
NHL - Buffalo @ Atlanta 4:30 PM PST Two teams with fading playoff hopes will meet up here. At time of press Buffalo is in the 9th seed, four points out. Atlanta is in the 11th slot, eight points out. The Sabres will come in at 31-31-6-4 SU, 36-36 ATS overall, and 15-20 ATS on the road. They are 3-7 ATS in their last ten overall and have lost three straight. Atlanta will enter at 29-34-7-3 SU, 35-38 ATS overall, and 19-17 ATS at home. The Thrashers are 6-4 ATS in their last ten and have won two straight. They are also 7-2 ATS in their last nine meetings with Buffalo. We lean to Atlanta in this spot. Early Prediction: Atlanta 3 Buffalo 2
