Casino Royale poker scene 'a classic casino movie moment'
The epic poker game in the last James Bond installment Casino Royale has been named as one of the truly great gambling scenes to be committed to celluloid.
Tonight, a South African entertainment publication, put the sequence in which Bond defeats the film's villain Le Chiffre at cards alongside a list of other iconic movie clips, including the card counting scene from Rain Man.
It was suggested by the article that Kevin Spacey's blackjack feature 21 would have been considerably better had it contained something of the caliber of these two films.
Other titles mentioned include Indecent Proposal, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Swingers.
Both Rain Man and 21 used the Caesars Palace casino in Las Vegas - a building increasingly popular with Hollywood producers - for one of their shooting locations.
Casino Royale's scene was filmed at the Atlantis Casino in the Bahamas, while the Stardust Hotel and Casino in Nevada featured in Swingers.
