South Beach Casino And Resort Goes Smoke Free

The South Beach Casino and Resort, on the Brokenhead First Nation, will go totally smoke free when it launches a new extension to the flourishing venture this week. This is the second such extension to the casino which is located 30 miles North of Winnipeg. Are they playing with fire or is it a calculated gamble going totally smoke free?

While the ongoing saga of smoke free casinos continues to smoulder it is refreshing to see a casino operator that is actually prepared to jump before the new regulations come into play. The new investment will add a further 10,000 square feet to the casino floor bringing the potential for a whole array of new games and a new Poker room. It seems as though the initial feedback has been very positive with many casino goers happy to venture into a smoke free establishment.

As more and more casinos join the fight to block the move to smoke free entertainment venues there may be a niche market materialising for those brave enough to jump the gun. So many have heard about these new “fresh air venues” but as yet the number of people who have actually experienced them is still relatively low. Are we set to the barriers to totally smoke free casinos fall? Or will the battle continue?
